According to the NISD website, Northside Independent School District (NISD) was established in 1949 with the consolidation of several rural school districts. Today Northside is one of South Texas’ largest school systems with 119 schools. The enrollment of students for 2016-2017 is approx. 105,550 students! The district boundary covers 355 square miles of urban landscape and rural Texas Hill Country. The district expects growth at around 2,500 students each year.
With that impressive number of schools there are a few brand new schools that will open for the 2018-2019 school year and the boundaries may be updated. *All neighborhoods are subject to change. District lines are always moving to compensate for amount of students in attendance at each school. More than one Elementary School and Middle School can feed into a given High School so always double check with the school district to be certain which school your child will attend.
